Paul WURTH supports the 2024 Jonk Fuerscher Contest

Last Saturday 16 March, we were delighted to participate in celebrating the participants of the Jonk Fuerscher Contest, organized yearly by the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg. The talent coming together here is astonishing and the support the young  prospective researchers are receiving by the association is amazing, leading to many of them returning year-on-year, and developing their skills in an impressive way.

Once more, we were proud to be able to support this great event and Paul Tockert (management Paul Wurth S.A.) together with Sébastien Wiertz (manager of Paul Wurth InCub) handed over rewards to two Jonk Fuerscher, namely:

Maxime BUCK (17 years) for Project MIRAS (computer science and robotics project featuring a brand-new self-assembly design for a swarm of robots)

Moritz ROHNER (17 years) – Quantum Mechanical Description of the Electrostatic Force (theoretical physics project inspired by the simplifying models of Nobel Prize winner Richard Feynman)

Both Maxim and Moritz will get the chance to participate in the Taiwan International Science Fair (TISF), organized by National Taiwan Science Education Center (NTSEC). It is a science research competition held annually in Taipei, Taiwan. We wish them a great trip and lots of success on their adventures in Taiwan and beyond.

Since several years now, Paul Wurth has been supporting this event with more than a price. Prior to the contest, Paul Wurth InCub organised different workshops with the young scientists on ideation, the art of presenting and speaking on stage to prepare them best for their performance. They are moderated by Sébastien Wiertz, who is also a long-time member of the contest jury.

Paul Wurth is pleased to help this young generation in their projects and we would be delighted to see some of these talents joining our teams in the near future.
