Paul Wurth signs MoU with Indian HEC

In the occasion of the Official Mission to India led by HE Mr. Etienne Schneider, Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg and Minister of the Economy on 1 - 5 March 2016, Paul Wurth signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd (HEC) on a non-exclusive cooperation for the Coke Oven Machines business in India. This agreement will offer Paul Wurth the possibility to have its state-of-the-art coke oven machines for the Indian market manufactured at HEC.

Established in 1958, HEC is a Government of India enterprise, located in Ranchi. HEC is one of the largest integrated engineering groups in India, being active in the field of steel & metallurgical plant equipment, mining & mineral processing equipment, machine tools as well as in the defense sector. The company operates facilities starting from steel melting, casting, forging, fabrication, machining, assembly and testing, and covers projects from concept engineering to commissioning.

The MoU was signed in New Delhi on 2nd March 2016 in presence of Anant Geete, Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Entreprises. According to Minister Etienne Schneider “Paul Wurth’s presence in India since 1993 has largely contributed to the development of the local steelmaking industry. This cooperation will offer new opportunities, also in terms of research & development.”
