The SOPRECOTM Single Oven Pressure Control system for coke oven batteries, developed by Paul Wurth, is a unique technology which allows to maintain individualized and technologically appropriate pressure conditions during the entire coke process.
The major benefits of the innovative SOPRECO system are that:
- maintaining negative pressure in the collecting main results in an optimized suction effect and ensures strong reduction of gas emissions from doors and lids during the initial phase of distillation;
- stabilization at constant pressure for each single oven during total distillation time is possible, independent from pressure fluctuations in the collecting main;
- positive pressure operation of the oven in the final stage of distillation becomes possible and provides for improved coking results.
