HOT BLAST SYSTEMS

The Paul Wurth Group has many years of successful Hot Blast System design experience. With the recent acquisition of Didier-M&P Energietechnik, now Paul Wurth Refractory & Engineering, Paul Wurth has secured many decades of experience with the world leader in Hot Blast System design – particularly in Hot Blast Stoves.

The layout of Hot Blast Stoves, Hot Blast Mains and Hot Blast Mixer is unique to each project. Adapting existing stoves to enlarged furnaces is an added complexity. Paul Wurth has proven its ability to tackle these challenges.

Paul Wurth Refractory & Engineering has successfully supplied over 300 internal combustion stoves and over 150 external combustion stoves. Paul Wurth Refractory & Engineering also specialises in the design and supply of heat recovery and pre-heating systems for stove combustion air and gas.

Paul Wurth designs Hot Blast Mains and Bustle Pipes to address system movements and residual expansions to give trouble free operation. A single main mixer or individual branch mixers can be incorporated.

Our systems operate with blast temperatures of up to 1350°C and blast pressures up to 5 bar(g).

We can supply Cold Blast, Combustion Air, Gas and Hot Blast Valves for most hot blast system applications. Please refer to the Valve section.

The Paul Wurth Tuyere Stocks are designed for long service life. The Tuyere Stock, as the connection between the bustle pipe and the tuyere, adapts to the relative movements between the hot blast delivery system and the furnace. They are designed for long life and easy handling. Paul Wurth Blowpipes are readily adaptable to accept auxiliary fuel injection.
