Luxembourg, 8 April 2009. At Dragon Steel Corporation’s (DSC) Taichung works in Taiwan, DSC and its supplier Paul Wurth are currently performing the hot commissioning of the new PRIMUS® plant which will recycle fine material (dusts, sludge, etc.) from the existing Electric Arc Furnace shops and from future sintering, blast furnace ironmaking and BOF steelmaking. In this frame, first hot metal has been successfully tapped from the plant’s melting furnace on April 4th, 2009.
At DRAGON STEEL, the PRIMUS® plant will provide a nominal recycling capacity of 100,000 tons (dry base) of fine material per year and will be operated with different feed mixes, ranging from 100% EAF dust to a high proportion of blast furnace residues. PAUL WURTH is honoured to extend its leading PRIMUS® technology for environmental improvement and cost benefit for the steel industry. PAUL WURTH S.A. • 32, rue d’Alsace • P.O.
