Luxembourg, 27 February 2008. With the great success of our Road Show on Monday February 25th and the subsequent large feedback from candidates, we would like to provide an update on our activities, progress and plans for Paul Wurth UK Ltd.
Office
We have identified potential office space in the Teesside area. We expect to commit on a long term lease shortly. The potential offices are new, modern, spacious and conveniently located. Parking facilities are adjacent to the potential sites. Considering the global market conditions, positive response and our desire to build a strong and developing local company, we are aiming at taking space for about 150 people with the potential to expand in the future.
We expect to fully staff the office with sales, project management, design, engineering, site specialists and all necessary administration and support capacities.
Technology
With the tremendous history of local iron and steel making, we are convinced of the skills of local specialists to invent, develop and optimise equipment, technologies and processes for iron-making and related industries. Our Company emphasizes the spirit of local collaboration and motivation to undertake technological challenges - and the new office will lead its own future for undertaking these challenges. The new company will develop its own unique technical competence(s) to directly serve clients and other members of the Paul Wurth Group.
Hiring
With the large interest we have commenced interviews for all positions and capacities in the new office. It will take us a couple of weeks to work through these important discussions and ensure that every candidate’s concerns and interests are addressed. Position offers from Paul Wurth are following behind the interviews and employment contracts are being finalised.
Our clear and stated target is to establish a large team of all the local specialists currently working in, and supporting, the field of iron-making engineering.
Our interest is to secure experienced candidates or people with relevant capabilities. Candidates are being offered attractive packages to recognize the long-term commitment that Paul Wurth takes to this important undertaking in the UK.

Start-up workload
Considering our current Group workload in our global market, we are ensuring that workload and responsibilities will be allocated to give a good start-up on important ongoing and new projects.
Familiarization of the new staff and meetings at Paul Wurth Group companies to expedite collaboration will also be initiated upon start-up of Paul Wurth UK Ltd.
