Health and Safety at Paul Wurth: a huge response

Luxembourg, 6 March 2007. The second edition of the group-wide “Health & Safety Day?, an initiative of the Arcelor Mittal Group, was a full success at Paul Wurth S.A. in Luxembourg as well as in the Paul Wurth entities worldwide.

Today, the Paul Wurth staff had the opportunity to participate in many different actions organised in relation with health and safety at work and in daily life.

Thanks to the support of the hospital Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch, the Accident Insurance Association, the University of Wuppertal, the Emergency Services 112 and other guest speakers, the day’s programme included information sessions on preventive medical advice, ergonomics and well-being at work. Lecturers on safety requirements in the constructional development process completed the offer of presentations adapted to a company active in building plants and machines.

All members of the Paul Wurth staff had the possibility to attend different workshops and demonstrations and to inform themselves about safety at work and on the road, first aid measures and fire safety. Those who are interested in sports, could take part in initiation courses on Walking and Running and test their ability to practice one of these disciplines.

The active participation of the personnel in all in all 15 activities has again demonstrated that, for an engineering company like Paul Wurth, whose core business is the design and supply of industrial plants and equipment, health and safety of everybody are utmost priorities.
