Luxembourg, 5 June 2009. Société Nationale de Crédit et d’Investissement (‘SNCI’) - Luxembourg state-owned Investment and Development Bank and Paul Wurth S.A. (‘Paul Wurth’) are pleased to announce that they have signed today contracts allowing Paul Wurth to purchase in a first step 50.4% of the shares held by SNCI in CTI Systems S.A. (‘CTI’). Today’s agreements materialize the intentions of the parties announced on 31 March 2009.   <more>

Luxembourg, May 12, 2009. The ordinary General Meeting of shareholders of Paul Wurth S.A. was held today, May 12, 2009 and approved the financial statements for the year 2008.

Even though the global economy suffered a sharp reversal during the second half of 2008, the year began in a favourable economic climate, particularly in iron and steelmaking. Thanks to the very high demand for steel and the continuing investment programmes that had been started in 2007, the Paul Wurth Group won major new orders and had, as a whole, an excellent year 2008.  <more>


DRAGON STEEL taps first hot metal from PRIMUS® Recycling Plant

Luxembourg, 8 April 2009. At Dragon Steel Corporation’s (DSC) Taichung works in Taiwan, DSC and its supplier Paul Wurth are currently performing the hot commissioning of the new PRIMUS® plant which will recycle fine material (dusts, sludge, etc.) from the existing Electric Arc Furnace shops and from future sintering, blast furnace ironmaking and BOF steelmaking. <more>

With an inner volume of 3800 cubic meters and a daily production of 7200 tonnes of hot metal, this new blast furnace is the biggest one ever built in India. <more>

New customer in Peru

Entry of Mini-BLT® Technology in Russia

Luxembourg, 21 May 2008. The Paul Wurth Group has developed since the mid 90’s a specific charging Bell Less Top® device perfectly fitting the constraints of small size blast furnaces: the Mini-BLT®. This charging system is directly derived from the well known BLT® technology and is specially designed for charging less than 2000 tonnes of burden material per day. More than 140 Mini-BLT® have been put already in operation in China and some others in Western Europe. <more>

In 2007, Paul Wurth once again recorded strong growth, confirming the transformation the Group has undergone since several years. All key indicators show an upward trend: sales, staff and results. For the fourth year in a row, the Group contracted a record amount of new orders.<more>


Reconducted ISO 9001 certification for Paul Wurth S.A.

Paul Wurth Italia to build first coke oven battery in Japan

Genova, 29 April 2008. On 14 April 2008, SUMITOMO Metal Industries, Ltd and Paul Wurth Italia S.p.A. officially signed a contract for the delivery of the new coke oven plant N°1E in Kashima Works, Ibaraki, Japan. This will be the first coke oven battery ever supplied by Paul Wurth in Japan. <more>
