Paul Wurth has since long had a special interest in the development of environmentally compatible technology for the production of iron and steel. Changes in the legal framework conditions and above all the environment itself equally demand ecological and economic solutions. With dedusting and gas filtering systems and the hereto related mechanical equipment, and above all with the development of the PRIMUS® technology for recycling iron- and steelmaking by-products, Paul Wurth brought about progress in this field and is able to offer cleaner technologies which moreover improve the process efficiency and allow a better resource utilisation.
Paul Wurth's commitment to continuously improve environmental performance and control is expressed through the ISO 14001 certification awarded in 2001 and attesting that the company has defined an environmental policy and introduced an operational environmental management system, according to which environment protection measures are integrated into the current working procedures.
