Paul Wurth has since long had a special interest in the development of environmentally compatible technology for the production of iron and steel. Changes in the legal framework conditions and above all the environment itself equally demand ecological and economic solutions. Paul Wurth’s extensive range of environmental protection technologies - dedusting and gas filtering systems as well as technologies for recycling steelmaking residues - enables our customers to adapt their production methods at all stages of the iron and steelmaking process to the most stringent constraints.
Paul Wurth is very conscious of the impact of iron and steelmaking on climate change and so is contributing directly to the global control of CO2 emissions by developing and marketing technologies that enable carbon dioxide emissions to be reduced and the energy efficiency of installations to be optimised. In addition, Paul Wurth is an active participant in discussions and research efforts to identify new production processes that will considerably reduce emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases.
